Meet James

A son of Florida's soil.

A fourth-generation Floridian, debate champion, finance outsider, and founder of Incubate Debate, James Fishback is running to make Florida affordable for the families who call it home.

James Fishback was born and raised in Broward County, a fourth-generation Floridian who grew up watching the cost of living skyrocket and the places families loved become harder to afford.

His mother immigrated from Colombia. His father ran a tree-trimming business before hard times forced the family onto food stamps. As a kid, James overcame a severe stutter through competitive debate and eventually became a national debate champion.

He studied international economics at Georgetown before building a career in finance and founding Azoria Partners. He also founded Incubate Debate, a nonprofit bringing free debate leagues to Florida high schools.

At 31, James is running because he believes too many Florida families are being priced out of the state they built. The campaign message is simple: Florida is our home.

"My family has been in Florida for four generations. I watched my father's business get destroyed. I know what it's like to struggle, and I know we can fix this."
